Background The Data (Use and Access) Act (“the Act”) received Royal Assent on 19 June 2025. Some of the provisions in the Act will come into force automatically by virtue of section 142 of the Act. This includes any regulation-making powers in the Act, including those in Part 1 allowing for the future development of smart data schemes.
