My Lords, I too thank the noble Lord, Lord Lebedev, for securing this debate and for his compelling opening speech. Freedom of expression is a fundamental right for us. Recently, the future of free speech on the internet has become a contentious topic in the United Kingdom. It is right that we examine the implications of this trend for our society and democracy.
