Making IMBOR 2025 mandatory (‘Comply or explain’) for the uniform and comprehensible recording of information about objects in public space Government In brief The Public-Space Management Information Model (IMBOR) describes how data about objects in public space and infrastructure — such as trees, benches, lampposts and roads — are recorded consistently and uniformly. It can be regarded as a kind of dictionary for managing public space. At the request of its administrator, CROW Knowledge Platform, the Standardisation Forum is assessing whether IMBOR version 2025 is suitable to be made mandatory for government bodies under the ‘Comply or explain’ policy by placing it on the Standardisation Forum’s ‘Comply or explain’ list.
